When you have a hit animated series, the next significant milestone to reach is usually a movie. Take Fox and “The Simpsons” that made the “The Simpsons Movie” in 2007. While that movie did not change much for the show, it was back to business after that, nor did it change the TV to movie landscape much; it did enough business to justify its existence. Now “Bob’s Burgers,” the animated television sitcom created by Loren Bouchard for Fox Broadcasting, is also graduating to the big screen with the “The Bob’s Burgers Movie,” and it will try and prove whether the series’ TV success can translate to the big screen.

“The Bob’s Burgers Movie” is an animated, big-screen, musical comedy-mystery-adventure based on the long-running Emmy®-winning series. The story begins when a ruptured water main creates an enormous sinkhole right in front of Bob’s Burgers, blocking the entrance indefinitely and ruining the Belchers’ plans for a successful summer. While Bob and Linda struggle to keep the business afloat, the kids try to solve a mystery that could save their family’s restaurant. As the dangers mount, these underdogs help each other find hope and fight to get back behind the counter, where they belong.
“The Bob’s Burger’s Movie” showcases voice talent, including Kristen Schaal, H. Jon Benjamin, John Roberts, Dan Mintz, Eugene Mirman, Larry Murphy, Zach Galifianakis, Kevin Kline, and David Wain. The film’s director is Bernard Derriman, and its co-director is series creator Loren Bouchard. The screenplay is by Bouchard & Nora Smith, and the producers include Bouchard, Smith, and Janelle Momary.
