Final 'Scream' Trailer: One Last Stabby Push To Get You In Theaters

Following “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” “The Matrix Resurrections,” and lord, every upcoming sequel under the sun, are you sick of the legacy sequel yet? Well, the legacy sequel and the studios who make them are not sick of themselves. So get ready for the fifth “Scream” movie titled simply “Scream.” Originated by Wes Craven and screenwriter Kevin Williamson, Craven died in 2015, and Williamson is only part of the franchise as an executive producer. Still, the series is back, and it’s got all its stars back in one place. Of course, it stars 25 years later after the events of four previous “Scream” films.

And with Omicron rising and theaters taking a beating outside of the ‘Spider-Man’ movie, Paramount Pictures is doing one more final push to try and get moviegoers to see “Scream” in theaters given that it’s too late to push the release date and they’ve chosen not to make it available digitally anywhere. They will live or die by the Ghostface knife.

Directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin & Tyler Gillett, and written by James Vanderbilt (“Zodiac”) & Guy Busick, “Scream” stars a new generation of actors played by Melissa Barrera, Kyle Gallner, Mason Gooding, Mikey Madison, Dylan Minnette, Jenna Ortega, Jack Quaid, Marley Shelton, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sonia Ammar. Plus, there are famous legacy characters played by the “Scream” icons Courteney Cox, David Arquette, and Neve Campbell.

Here’s the official synopsis:

Twenty-five years after a streak of brutal murders shocked the quiet town of Woodsboro, a new killer has donned the Ghostface mask and begins targeting a group of teenagers to resurrect secrets from the town’s deadly past. Neve Campbell (“Sidney Prescott”), Courteney Cox (“Gale Weathers”) and David Arquette (“Dewey Riley”) return to their iconic roles in Scream alongside Melissa Barrera, Kyle Gallner, Mason Gooding, Mikey Madison, Dylan Minnette, Jenna Ortega, Jack Quaid, Marley Shelton, Jasmin Savoy Brown, and Sonia Ammar.
