Let’s be real, Netflix original films haven’t had the best track record in the past couple of years. Sure, some of them are big hits and get a lot of viewers, but the quality is often just decent, at best. But every so often, a Netflix film comes along that looks like it might be unique and special. And for this summer, that film looks like it could be “They Cloned Tyrone.”

As seen in the trailer, “They Cloned Tyrone” tells the story of a hustler, a pimp, and a sex worker who find themselves in the middle of a huge conspiracy when they realize that someone is cloning random citizens in their neighborhood. Not only that, they may be using everyday food and cosmetic items to keep these people in check. So, what do they do? Well, obviously, they grab some guns and try to take down the entire system.
The film stars John Boyega, Teyonah Parris, David Alan Grier, J. Alphonse Nicholson, Tamberla Perry, Eric Robinson Jr., Kiefer Sutherland, and Jamie Foxx. ‘Tyrone’ is directed by Juel Taylor, who co-wrote the script alongside Tony Rettenmaier.
“The Cloned Tyrone” is set to arrive on Netflix on July 21. You can watch the trailer below.
Here’s the synopsis:
