Netflix‘s big drama series “The Crown” is coming to an end, with the sixth and final season debuting on November 16 in a Part 1 and Part 2 coming out on December 14. The series focusing on drama within the British royal family is now directly into the final days of Princess Diana along with the tragedy of her death in France and that impact on her children.
There are some new images for the final season released to us by Netflix that feature actress Elizabeth Debicki as Diana, who eerily looks extremely like the late Princess. The rest of the acclaimed series’ impressive cast consists of Imelda Staunton as Queen Elizabeth II, Jonathan Pryce as Prince Philip, Lesley Manville as Princess Margaret, Dominic West as Prince Charles, Claudia Harrison as Princess Anne, Olivia Williams as Camilla Parker Bowles, Bertie Carvel as Tony Blair, Salim Daw as Mohamed Al Fayed, and Khalid Abdalla as Dodi Fayed.
The show’s logline provided by Netflix reads as follows:
A relationship blossoms between Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed before a fateful car journey has devastating consequences. Prince William tries to integrate back into life at Eton in the wake of his mother’s death as the monarchy has to ride the wave of public opinion. As she reaches her Golden Jubilee, the Queen reflects on the future of the monarchy with the marriage of Charles and Camilla and the beginnings of a new Royal fairytale in William and Kate.
There had been some rumblings that producers of the show were mulling over potential prequels focusing on other members of the British royals in the past. However, we’re still in the dark about which families could be potentially covered.
