‘The Good House’ Trailer: Sigourney Weaver & Kevin Kline Rekindle An Old Romance In New Drama

Sigourney Weaver may be best known for her iconic role of Ripley from the “Alien” franchise, where she is a total badass and murders Xenomorphs like there’s no tomorrow. But that’s not the type of role you can expect to see Weaver portray in the new drama, “The Good House.”

Well, “The Good House” could be seen as “Alien,” if you replace the Xenomorphs with glasses of wine and the escape of the Nostromo is replaced with navigating middle-aged romance in New England. Same-same. Kidding aside, “The Good House” tells the story of a New England realtor (Weaver), who becomes enamored with an old flame as she deals with drama surrounding her ex-husband and a possible drinking problem.

The film stars Weaver alongside Kevin Kline, Morena Baccarin, and Rob Delaney. “The Good House” is directed by the duo of Maya Forbes and Wally Wolodarsky, who both co-wrote the film alongside Thomas Bezucha

“The Good House” arrives in theaters on September 30. You can watch the trailer below.

Here’s the synopsis:

The Good House follows Hildy Good (Sigourney Weaver), a wry New England realtor and descendant of the Salem witches, who loves her wine and her secrets. Her compartmentalized life begins to unravel as she rekindles a romance with her old high-school flame, Frank Getchell (Kevin Kline), and becomes dangerously entwined in one person’s reckless behavior. Igniting long-buried emotions and family secrets, Hildy is propelled toward a reckoning with the one person she’s been avoiding for decades: herself.
