‘Ironheart’: Anthony Ramos Confirmed As Marvel’s Supernatural Villain The Hood In The Disney+ Series

Marvel’s workplace superhero comedy “She-Hulk: Attorney At Law” arrives later this month on Disney+ and the studio is continuing to churn out even more shows as filming has already started on “Ironheart” in Atlanta. A show that focuses on Dominique Thorne’s character, Riri Williams, a brilliant young woman that builds her own armor suit similar to Iron Man and War Machine without the aid of Stark Industries technology.

A batch of set photos from JustJared has revealed the Ironheart armor mock-up and also featured actor Anthony Ramos (“In The Heights”) in costume, which confirms that he’ll indeed be playing an MCU version of villain Parker Robbins, aka The Hood, in the streaming series.

Unlike Williams, Robbins’ powers don’t come from technology but from magic and the comic version has a direct connection to the world of Doctor Strange as his signature cloak and boots originate from Marvel interdimensional villain Dormammu, seen in “Doctor Strange,” and are enchanted giving his supernatural abilities as he wields pistols. These magical powers help The Hood with his ambition in the New York criminal underworld.

We’re still curious who “Star Wars” actor Alden Ehrenreich is playing in the series as signs are pointing towards Obadiah Stane’s (portrayed by Jeff Bridges) son, Zeke Stane.

Somebody like The Hood could potentially become a recurring character that may return for upcoming projects like “Daredevil: Born Again” and even the “Thunderbolts” film that will see a mix of various villains being put together on a Suicide Squad-like team. Given The Hood’s Strange/Dormammu connections, an unannounced “Doctor Strange 3” could be on the table too as Charlize Theron plays Dormammu’s niece Clea and appeared at the end of “Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness.”

Oscar Isaac‘s “Moon Knight” crossing paths with Robbins in the future wouldn’t be hard to imagine, either. Basically, there’s a lot of potential to see Ramos show up in numerous Marvel properties down the line.

There is an expectation that next month during the D23 Expo presentation we could learn more about “Ironheart” and we are anticipating some equally impactful news at the Disney-run event. Williams will first appear on the big screen later this year in Ryan Coogler’s “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” which hits theaters on November 11.
