'The Munsters' Trailer: Rob Zombie Returns With His Update Of The 1960s Family-Horror Sitcom

Well, another Rob Zombie movie is almost here, which should be great news for his fans (whoever they are). Love him or hate him, Zombie remains one of the biggest names in genre directing today thanks to his take on the “Halloween” franchise from the ’00s and his Firefly Family trilogy. The third (and hopefully final) of those films, “3 From Hell,” came in 2019. Now, for his follow-up, Zombie offers his take on another (in)famous horror family in “The Munsters.”

The new movie is Zombie’s take on the 1960s television sitcom that followed the Munster family from Transylvania to their new home in the American suburbs. So, in other words, a reboot no one wanted, but Zombie feels he needs to give us. The new film stars Jeff Daniel Phillips, Sheri Moon Zombie (because of course), and Daniel Roebuck as the titular family.  Richard Brake also stars as Dr. Henry Augustus Wolfgang, and Sylvester McCoy plays Igor.

But that’s not all: Jorge Garcia, Catherine Schell, Cassandra Peterson, Dee Wallace, Pat Priest, and Butch Patrick also star in the film. As per usual with his movies, Zombie writes, directs, and produces through his Spookshow International Films.

Zombie just wrapped up shooting “The Munsters” in Budapest, Hungary, last week, but the film releases this September. Watch the new trailer for the film below.
