Christopher Nolan really does get pick of the litter when it comes to casting, huh? Perhaps that’s shown best in his growing cast for the upcoming “The Odyssey.” He just keeps adding incredible talent to the film, like the latest addition, Jon Bernthal.

According to Deadline, Christopher Nolan has added Jon Bernthal to the cast of his soon-to-be-in-production epic, “The Odyssey.” Bernthal joins a cast that already includes Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, and Charlize Theron. It’s unclear who exactly Bernthal plays in the film.
Bernthal is an acclaimed actor who has been in a number of high profile films and TV series over the years. Perhaps, he’s best known for his run as The Punisher in Marvel TV series. He’s soon going to reprise that role in March’s “Daredevil: Born Again.” On the film side of things, he’s appeared in projects such as “The Wolf of Wall Street,” “Fury,” and “King Richard.” He has two films arriving soon in theaters— “The Amateur” and “The Accountant 2.”
Nolan’s new film is expected to begin production soon and is only the second project he’s worked on for Universal. The film is likely going to be his biggest and most ambitious to date, which is saying something for the filmmaker. His most recent film, “Oppenheimer,” was a runaway hit, both critically (winning a ton of awards) and commercially (making nearly $1 billion at the box office).
“The Odyssey” is expected to arrive in theaters on July 17, 2026.
