‘The Odyssey’: Travis Scott Revealed As Part Of Christopher Nolan’s Cast In Latest TV Spot

You might remember that Travis Scott once provided music for Christopher Nolan‘s genre-bending sci-fi flick “Tenet” with the song called “The Plan,” but it looks like the popular musician is going to be playing a minor supporting role in Nolan’s upcoming Greek myth epic “The Odyssey,” led by Matt Damon. This comes after Scott was spotted in new promotional footage over the weekend.

The new footage, in the form of a TV spot, featuring Scott in the fantasy flick, aired during Fox’s Sunday broadcast of the NFL AFC Championship that saw the New England Patriots go head-to-head with the Denver Broncos (ahead of expectation of some major film promotion at next month’s Super Bowl).

In that new spot, you can see Scott’s character speaking in a room alongside Tom Holland‘s Telemachus and Jon Bernthal‘s Menelaus.

We see Odysseus on a perilous mission in the film to return home after the bloody Trojan War. On his voyage facing all sorts of supernatural threats, including the deadly sirens, various sea monsters, the Greek god Poseidon, an evil witch, and a giant cyclops. One of the most compelling aspects here is that Nolan has shot the film entirely on IMAX cameras and is attempting to limit how much CGI is going to be used, opting to do as much in-camera special effects as possible.

Nolan has cast Damon as Odysseus (King of Ithaca), Robert Pattinson as the villainous Antinous (a nefarious suitor seeking to marry Odysseus’ estranged wife to overtake the island kingdom), Anne Hathaway is in the role of Queen Penelope (wife of Odysseus, who is entertaining potential suitors to marry), as the seductive sorceress Circe is Charlize Theron, and Himesh Patel plays Eurylochus (a soldier/sailor that fights alongside Odysseus). Others among the film’s massive cast include Zendaya, Mia Goth, Elliot Page, Benny Safdie, John Leguizamo, Corey Hawkins, Ryan Hurst, Lupita Nyong’o, Logan Marshall-Green, Will Yun Lee, Samantha Morton, and more.

It remains to be seen if Scott will also be collaborating on the film’s music by providing another track for “The Odyssey” when it arrives in theaters on July 17. Until then, you can watch the new footage with Scott below.
