‘The Parenting’ Trailer: Brian Cox, Edie Falco, Lisa Kudrow & More Lead New Max Poltergeist Film Arriving March 13

Can a poltergeist bring two very different families together? A special getaway’s uninvited guest causes problems in “The Parenting.” The upcoming film follows a young couple, Rohan and Josh, intent on introducing their parents to one another. They get more than they bargained for when a 400-year-old poltergeist appears. The pair — along with their guests, friends, and an eccentric local — must find a way to stop the spirit. Craig Johnson directs the film from a screenplay by Kent Sublette. The latter’s work on “Saturday Night Live” spans numerous seasons – including his current status as co-head writer.

Nik Dodani and Brandon Flynn star as the couple at the center of it all. Their parents are played by four very notable performers — Brian Cox, Edie Falco, Lisa Kudrow, and Dean Norris. Parker Posey as well as Vivian Bang are also part of the cast.

The film’s official synopsis:

A hilariously terrifying comedy, THE PARENTING follows young couple Rohan and Josh as they plan a perfect weekend getaway in the country to introduce their parents. As tensions begin to flare between the more traditional Sharon and Frank and the laid-back Liddy and Cliff, the families soon realize that their rental – managed by eccentric local Brenda – is haunted by the presence of a 400-year-old poltergeist. When one parent becomes thoroughly possessed, it’s up to the young couple and their meddlesome BFF Sara to unite the families and stop the evil entity once and for all.
