Prepare for new swashbuckling adventures as “The Three Musketeers – Part 2: Milday” has dropped courtesy of distributor Samuel Goldwyn Films. The second installment in a new string of epic action-adventure films adapts the classic French daring and romance novels by author Alexandre Dumas. The ambitious pic is centered around a looming British invasion of France. Of course, “The Three Musketeers” focuses on a trio of honorable and veteran swordsmen who enlist the help of a rookie recruit, and together, they protect France and the royal family from all sorts of threats from within and outside of the country, mixing both adventure and romance elements.
“The Three Musketeers – Part 2: Milday” stars a host of famous French and international actors, including François Civil, Vincent Cassel, Romain Duris, Pio Marmaï, Eva Green, Louis Garrel, Vicky Krieps, Lyna Khoudri, Jacob Fortune-Lloyd, Eric Ruf, Marc Barbé, Patrick Mille et Julien Frison, and Ralph Amoussou.
An official synopsis for the second “Three Musketeers” film directed by Martin Bourboulon provided by the studio reads as follows:
From the Louvre to Buckingham Palace, to the gutters of Paris, to the siege of LaRochelle. In a kingdom divided by religious wars and under threat of British invasion, a handful of men and women will battle and tie their fate to that of France.
Bourboulon also helmed the previous installment, “The Three Musketeers: D’Artagnan,” which was released previously in 2023 and directed from a script penned by Matthieu Delaporte and Alexandre de La Patellière, completing their epic two-parter. The film already debuted in France late last year and received six nominations at the 2024 César Awards, winning one for Best Production Design, a clear sign of the care and effort put into the modern re-telling of the beloved period adventurers.
“The Three Musketeers – Part 2: Milady” opens on April 19 exclusively in theaters, and you can watch the latest trailer below.
