Need a fun, breezy murder mystery spiked with British wit to close out the summer? Look no further than “The Thursday Murder Club,” which hits Netflix at the end of August.
Starring Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, and a veritable smorgasbord of elite British acting talent, the film follows a group of septuagenarian amateur sleuths who set out to solve a local murder. Oh, and it’s based on Richard Osman‘s bestselling 2020 novel, the first in a series of four (soon to be five) books; so, if this is a hit for Netflix, expect this whole troupe to be back for a sequel.
