Being married to a time traveler is “complicated,” according to Clare in the new series, “The Time Traveler’s Wife.” You see, sometimes your spouse is cooking dinner, taking a shower, or laying in bed. The next minute—POOF—he’s gone.
As seen in the teaser for “The Time Traveler’s Wife,” that’s the basis for the new series, based on the bestselling novel by Audrey Niffenegger. The show tells the story of Clare and Henry, a married couple with all the typical issues that spouses deal with, but with one big exception—Henry is a time traveler. Not like Doctor Who, Bill & Ted, or Marty McFly, however. Henry has no way of controlling it and doesn’t know how it might be stopped. One minute, he’s there. The next, he’s not.
The series stars Rose Leslie, Theo James, Desmin Borges, and Natasha Lopez. “The Time Traveler’s Wife” is written and produced by Steven Moffat, who is best known for his work on the aforementioned “Doctor Who,” as well as the reinvented “Sherlock.” Though we’ve seen “The Time Traveler’s Wife” adapted into a film, previously, which starred Eric Bana and Rachel McAdams, we have to assume Moffat has a new angle on the story, given his track record.
“The Time Traveler’s Wife” debuts on HBO in May. You can watch the teaser below.
Here’s the synopsis:
