'They/Them' Trailer: Kevin Bacon Runs A Deadly Conversion Camp In Blumhouse's Latest Slasher

Blumhouse is not new when it comes to slasher films. This is a studio that has made its name on revolutionizing the low-budget horror film. With “They/Them,” it would appear the studio is not only presenting a new slasher but infusing the genre with a healthy dose of social commentary.

As seen in the trailer for “They/Them,” the film follows the story of a group of LGBTQ+ youth sent to a conversion camp unlike any other. Most people assume conversion camps are religious and focus on breaking down queer people through the power of the Bible. In “They/Them,” the Whistler Camp seems to use more psychologically damaging methods to change its campers. Oh yeah, and there’s also a crazy killer roaming the camp trying to murder folks.

“They/Them” arrives on Peacock on August 5. You can watch the new trailer below.

Here’s the synopsis:

Kevin Bacon plays Owen Whistler in this slasher horror film set at an LGBTQIA+ conversion camp. Several queer and trans campers join Whistler for a week of programming intended to “help them find a new sense of freedom”. As the camp’s methods become increasingly more psychologically unsettling, the campers must work together to protect themselves. When a mysterious killer starts claiming victims, things get even more dangerous.
