After “The Tick” became a modest hit as an animated series (spun off of the popular indie comic book) in the ’90s, the series was quickly adapted for live-action in a very short-lived series in 2001. However, after that series crashed and burned, it was deemed unlikely that we’d ever get to see the superhero satire grace TV screens ever again. Enter Amazon Prime Video.
Fifteen years after the original live-action series was canceled, Amazon rebooted the series for live-action one more time for its Prime Video streaming service. Against all odds, the series was popular enough to not only finish its first season but also spawn a Season 2. And in 2019, fans of the silly superhero and his universe are in for a treat, as “The Tick” returns in just over a month.

As you can see in the new trailer for the second season, Amazon is still embracing the wackiness and absurdity of “The Tick,” as the series introduces new heroes and villains, each with their own satirical bite. For those superhero fans looking for something a bit more ridiculous, this series has you covered.
The series stars Peter Serafinowicz as the titular crime fighter, Griffin Newman, and Valorie Curry.
“The Tick” returns to Amazon Prime Video on April 5.
