London’s seedy nightlife, grimy pubs, and various lowlifes have provided the British crime thriller genre no shortage of classics over the years. And looking to join the ranks of "Get Carter" and "The Long Good Friday" is Gerard Johnson‘s "Hyena," set to make its international premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. We have an exclusive clip that takes you inside the film’s milieu.
Starring Peter Ferdinando, Stephen Graham, Neil Maskell, Richard Dormer, Elisa Lasowski and MyAnna Buring, the story follows Logan, a crooked undercover cop who’s pinned between the Turkish criminals he’s betrayed, the Albanians he’s now siding with, and an internal affairs investigation from his ostensible colleagues. All of this transpires while Logan tries to save a woman sold into sexual slavery. In this clip, you’ll get a sense of the tension and atmosphere Johnson looks to bring to this film.
"Hyena" will screen at TIFF in the Vanguard section of the fest. Check out the scene below.
