'Too Old To Die Young' Trailer: Nicolas Winding Refn Teams With Miles Teller For New Amazon Series Debuting In June

It feels like it’s been forever since we had an update on Nicolas Winding Refn’s upcoming Amazon limited series “Too Old to Die Young.” But much like the filmmaker’s own work, we get blindsided by not just a trailer for the series, but also a release date that is only just over two months away.

The trailer for the series gives you all you really need to know about “Too Old to Die Young.” First, it is most definitely a project from the mind of the man who brought film fans “Drive” and “The Neon Demon.” Refn’s undeniable style that turned heads and created fans is very much on display in the footage seen here. And also, there’s the music that fans have come to expect, from the musical mind of composer Cliff Martinez.

But that’s all stuff that we were expecting already. The trailer also shows our first look at what the tone and plot of the crime thriller are going to be. Miles Teller plays a cop, who seems to dabble a little on the wrong side of the law, recovering from the mental anguish of shooting a woman while on duty. However, that’s just the beginning, as we learn that there’s more to the story (and the woman) than we knew before and as the trailer unfolds, viewers see that the Mexican cartel is involved, which is never a good thing.

What is a positive is the cast that Refn and co-writer Ed Brubaker have assembled for this series. Joining Teller are John Hawkes, Jena Malone, Billy Baldwin, and Cristina Rodlo.

As for the release date, you’ll be happy to know that Amazon is set to drop the series on its Prime Video streaming service on June 14. And if what Cliff Martinez said recently about the episode lengths, Refn fans could be in for hours and hours of content to kick off the summer.
