The trailer for the new film “Juanita” just dropped, and Alfre Woodard is killing it. If this film is as good as the feel-good, funny, find-yourself vibes this trailer is giving out, then, as Juanita says it, “the lines should be out the door.”

Directed by Clark Johnson (“The Wire”), this independent drama follows the story of Juanita, and independent mother and grandmother, as she books the first greyhound bus out of town in order to get away from the drama of her life and family. The town she lands in, playfully named Butte, turns out to be not what she’s expecting, but she is there to make the most of it. And for the people of Butte, they have no idea what’s in store when Juanita comes to town.
Juanita herself will be played by Alfre Woodard, a nominee for an Academy Award, Grammy Award, and lots of Emmy Awards. She is known for her roles in shows like “St. Elsewhere” and “L.A. Law,” as well as critically acclaimed movies “12 Years a Slave” and “Annabelle.” Woodard will be joined by Blair Underwood (“L.A. Law,” “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”), Adam Beach (“Walker, Texas Ranger,” “Suicide Squad”), and Marcus Henderson (“Get Out”).
Juanita is set to premiere on Netflix on March 8, 2019. Watch the trailer here:
