‘Finally Dawn’ Trailer: Lily James, Joe Keery & Willem Dafoe Star In 1950s Italian Drama Coming July 18

Next month, writer/director Saverio Costanzo at long last will see his film “Finally Dawn” heading to theaters and digital on July 18, as the story takes place in Italy during the 1950s, and we have landed a new trailer for the pic from Samuel Goldwyn Films.

The upcoming drama that debuted back in 2023 at the 80th Venice International Film Festival boasts quite the cast with Lily James, Willem Dafoe, Rachel Sennott, Joe Keery, Alba Rohrwacher, Michele Bravi, and Rebecca Antonaci on the film’s call sheet.

Thanks to Samuel Goldwyn Films for also providing the film’s logline:

A young Roman woman during the 1950s is on the verge of becoming engaged to a man. She goes to Cinecittà to do an audition as an extra and is thrust into this almost infinite night during which she discovers herself.

Costanzo is perhaps known for his Italian remake of the HBO series “In Treatment,” and his other TV series “My Brilliant Friend,” along with previous feature efforts such as “Hungry Hearts,” “Private,” and “The Solitude of Prime Numbers.”

Of course, James is coming off projects like her miniseries “Pam & Tommy,” playing actress/90s icon Pamela Anderson in the wake of the sex tape scandal, and the heartbreaking A24 wrestling biopic “The Iron Claw.” Also, the British actress has shot a remake of Renny Harlin‘s mountain climbing action adventure flick “Cliffhanger” and most recently joined the cast of Takashi Miike‘s “Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo.”
