Taylor Sheridan shows no sign of slowing down, and his Paramount+ empire flexes its muscles this fall. He has three shows coming this fall: a new one, “Land Man,” starring Billy Bob Thornton, about the Texas oil industry, the second part of the final season of “Yellowstone,” and the season two return of the Sylvester Stallone-starring “Tulsa King.”
If you didn’t see season one, “Tulsa King” centers on Dwight “The General” Manfredi (Stallone), a Mafia capo from New York City. Having just finished serving a 25-year prison sentence and keeping his mouth, instead of being rewarded, Dwight’s boss exiles him to Tulsa, Oklahoma, as a punishment for stepping out of line and establishing criminal operations there. Dwight begrudgingly accepts and then tries to set up a base there using many random people from the city.

At the end of season one, Dwight was arrested for bribery by Stacy (Andrea Savage), a senior ATF agent who started a romantic relationship with him before she knew he was a mobster.
“Tulsa King” has a big supporting cast, including Martin Starr, Jay Will, Max Casella, Domenick Lombardozzi, Vincent Piazza, A. C. Peterson, Garrett Hedlund, and Dana Delany. Most of them return for season two, and Annabella Sciorra, Tatiana Zappardino, Frank Grillo, Neal McDonough and Rich Ting are newcomers to the series.
While original showrunner Terence Winter (“Boardwalk Empire”) butted heads with Sheridan in season one, and briefly left the show, he returns again as head writer (you can read our season one interview with Winter here).
Here’s the season two synopsis:
Dwight and his crew continue to build up and defend their growing empire in Tulsa, but just as they get their bearings, they realize that they’re not the only ones who want to stake their claim. With looming threats from the Kansas City mob and a very powerful local businessman, Dwight struggles to keep his family and crew safe while keeping track of all his affairs. Plus, he still has unfinished business back in New York.
