Video Preview For Taika Waititi's Coming Of Age Comedy 'Boy'

Here is a five-minute preview for Taika Waititi’s ’80’s coming-of-age comedy “Boy” which screened at Sundance and Berlin earlier this year to critical acclaim.

The film follows an imaginative 11-year-old East Coast boy, played by James Rolleston, as he tries to make sense of his world with his wannabe gangster father returning from jail. Waititi also stars in the film as Boy’s father with Te Aho Eketone-Whitu portraying his younger brother Rocky.

Waititi is following up from his 2007 directorial effort “Eagle Vs. Shark” which starred fellow New Zealanders and Flight Of The Conchords member, Jemaine Clement. Most recently, Waititi was cast in Martin Campbell’s “The Green Lantern” as Thomas Kalmuka, a friend of Hal Jordan who is described as the Green Lantern’s Jimmy Olsen.

“Boy” doesn’t have stateside release yet but will likely feature heavily on the festival circuit in the coming year.
