Vin Diesel Confirms "Some Of The Guardians" Will Show Up In 'Thor: Love & Thunder'

Even though he’s lent his vocal talents to four separate Marvel Studios films, including two ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ movies and the last two ‘Avengers’ projects, Vin Diesel is hardly the most talked-about actor to play a superhero in the MCU. As the voice of Groot, he’s great, but like Bradley Cooper, he tends to get overshadowed by the rest of the A-listers who actually show their faces in the films. However, Diesel still gets the insider info, and he’s not afraid to drop some secrets that are sure to make Kevin Feige curse under his breath.

Speaking to Comicbook.com, while promoting his upcoming non-Marvel superhero film, “Bloodshot,” Diesel was asked about the future of Groot, considering the character has been going through some big physical changes with each MCU appearance. The actor began by hinting at the type of Groot we might see in “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,” which is still a few years away. And it doesn’t appear that we’ll have Baby Groot or Teenage Groot anymore.

“I only have two words about that character and it is ‘Alpha Groot,'” Diesel said.

But that’s not all that the actor is willing to share. He also dropped the news that some of the Guardians, including Groot, will make an appearance in the upcoming “Thor: Love & Thunder,” from writer-director Taika Waititi.

He added, “I am waiting and excited for my friend James Gunn to knock this next one out of the park. He took ‘The Suicide Squad’ so he’s about to embark on it. ‘Thor’ will also, the director talked to me about ‘Thor’ will incorporate some of the Guardians of the Galaxy. That’ll be very interesting, nobody knows, maybe I shouldn’t have said anything.”

Yeah, you probably shouldn’t have said that, Mr. Diesel. Even though it’s been widely assumed that some of the Guardians would show up in the upcoming ‘Thor’ sequel, as the title character was last seen joining the team and flying off to space at the end of “Avengers: Endgame,” we have yet to get confirmation that the two franchises would crossover in ‘Love & Thunder.’ We’d venture to guess that Marvel Studios would have liked to leave that a secret until the first trailer, at the very least. Oops!

“Thor: Love & Thunder” will hit theaters on November 5, 2021.
