Remember Wednesday when we found out that Julie Delpy and Linda Cardellini were part of the “Avengers: Age Of Ultron” cast? Well, that relatively straight-forward piece of Marvel news has gotten an unexpected wrinkle.
According to a tweet from Buzzfeed’s Adam B. Vary, Disney sent out an updated premiere tip sheet (a sort-of bulletin to press about who’ll be attending a given premiere) yesterday for the ‘Avengers’ sequel. While both actresses were originally listed under the cast – or more accurately, “from the film” – the new version lists only Delpy as being a cast member with Cardellini downgraded to “special guest” alongside other Marvel luminaries that include actors and filmmakers like Paul Rudd, James Gunn, and Shane Black. Was the first tip sheet a misprint? Well, the studio told Slashfilm Wednesday it wasn’t and Latino Review claimed on Twitter to know what roles both actresses had in the film. Was it just a mistake all along? Is Cardellini actually cast but now cut out of the film for time? Is she the new Spider-Man? We guess we’ll find out when someone asks her on the red carpet.
In the meantime, Marvel has released a pair of TV spots for the second team-up film along with a new featurette focusing on all the fun the “Avengers” cast has together on set. It’s just like summer camp! Watch it all below and catch “Avengers: Age Of Ultron” on May 1st.
