Got a Tip?

Watch: 8 Clips From Halle Berry’s Former Awards Season Bait ‘Frankie & Alice’

Frankie & Alice

A 1970s set drama about a young black woman suffering from personality disorder? If that doesn’t tick a few obvious Oscar boxes, we don’t know what does, and Halle Berry certainly thought she’d have another shot at an award. Way back in 2010, “Frankie & Alice” was being positioned as a contender, but it barely made ripple and wound up sitting on a shelf for four years awaiting the light of day. Well, that day arrives this weekend and eight clips have dropped to compel you to give in to your curiosity.

This story centers on a young woman with a personality disorder who struggles to contain her racist alter-ego, with Stellan SkarsgÃ¥rd, Chandra Wilson and Phylicia Rashad supporting and Geoffrey Sax (“White Noise,” “Alex Rider: Stormbreaker“) behind the camera. That does sound good on paper but good movies don’t generally sit on a shelf for four years only to quietly hit theatres in limited release on the same weekend as “Captain America: The Winter Soldier.” Just sayin’.

But if you are sufficiently intrigued, you can keep your eyes peeled for this one on April 4th. [Blackfilm]
