While Bradley Cooper might contend for Oscar glory in "American Sniper," and Jennifer Lawrence returns to the big screen next month in "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 1," right now everyone’s curiosity is focused on "Serena." The long delayed movie premieres next week at the London Film Festival, and a new clip has arrived.
The "Silver Linings Playbook" and "American Hustle" duo are back, this time in a Depression-era drama about a timber magnate and his wife, ripped apart by ambition and infidelity, in a story brimming with jealousy and murder. It’s potentially rich stuff, but with Susanne Bier‘s movie sitting on a shelf for a long time, it’s not the best sign that the movie lives up to its promise.
"Serena" opens in the U.K. on October 24th and hits VOD in the U.S. on February 26th, 2015, followed by a theatrical release on March 27th. [Marie Claire]
