So what does Disney do when getting the first word out about their brand new princess movie? Get an article in USA Today featuring an interview with Kristen Bell? Yep, makes sense. Make sure that the very first teaser trailer looks like an “Ice Age” movie….uh, what?
Yep, what you’re about to watch below is the first taste of Disney’s “Frozen,” but you’ll be forgiven if you mistake it for another entry in rival Fox‘s franchise about Scrat and his pre-historic gang. It’s essentially one long, mildly amusing short with a snowman and moose (who acts like a dog) chasing the former’s carrot nose across a frozen pond. Cutesy? Sure. Memorable? Meh. The actual movie sounds much cooler (no pun intended), taking place in a kingdom trapped in an eternal snowy winter with the plucky Anna (Bell) teaming up with mountain man Kristoff (Jonathan Groff) to battle the Snow Queen (Idina Menzel) and unfreeze the spell she’s cast. None of that is here.
So anyway, give a look below. “Frozen” opens on November 27th. Btw, Disney announced today that Josh Gad (“The Book of Mormon“), Santino Fontana and Alan Tudyk (“Firefly,” “Serenity“) have all joined the voice cast of the movie.
