Ah yes, the walk of shame—the post-coital ritual that we’ve all experienced, leaving someone’s place in the morning smelling of fluids, with sex hair matted to improbable angles. And that concept takes a whole other turn in “Walk Of Shame,” with the comedy getting a red band trailer.
Elizabeth Banks leads the movie as an aspiring reporter who is left stranded in downtown Los Angeles without a car, phone, ID or money after a one night stand with a stranger. But it’s not home she has to get to, it’s a job interview, and she’s got 8 hours to make it if she wants the gig of a lifetime. So yes, it’s an excuse for Banks to get into all manner of hijinks and the result is sort of mildly amusing. You can certainly tell that a lot of effort went into it, though this kind of stuff should look effortless. Though the supporting cast seems pretty decent with Gillian Jacobs, James Marsden and Chris Traeger’s ex-girlfriend from “Parks and Recreation” all involved.
