It was during Thanksgiving week last year that we got our first teaser of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," and this morning things come full circle with the first clip from the film.
Disney and Lucasfilm continue to be very selective about what they are showing, and not showing. So sorry folks, Luke still isn’t here, but Finn and Rey are on the run with the big desert explosion you’ve already seen in the trailers happening behind them. Meanwhile, the latest TV spots show off lots of new footage including our first look at Nien Nunb’s return, and the First Order giving a salute that’s eerily familiar.
Meanwhile, in case you’re wondering how much his trademark lens flare Abrams will put into ‘The Force Awakens,’ he told an audience at the Montclair Film Festival: “The Force Awakens” will have some lens flare, but only when it’s unavoidable or necessary," the director said. “This is not the movie for that. These are not the flares you’re looking for.”
"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" arrives on December 18th. [ComingSoon/EW/The Wall Street Journal]
