A couple weeks ago, "Horrible Bosses 2" opened three years after the first one, and it seemed audiences had considerably cooled off on the concept. It arrived with lower box office numbers than its predecessor, and in general no one seemed that excited about it. Does the same fate await "Hot Tub Time Machine 2"? It too was a surprise hit, coasting on a wacky premise, but five years later when this lands in theaters, will audiences be as curious as they were the first time? Well, that depends on how this trailer plays.
Rob Corddry, Craig Robinson and Clark Duke return (but not John Cusack, which seems surprising, given he’ll sign up for anything these days) with a bold new twist given to the movie: they go into the future this time! Oh, and into the past…and well, everywhere. Watching this, I sort of just felt like watching the superior and most excellent "Bill & Ted’s" movies instead, as by the end of the trailer, it seemed the concept was already wearing pretty thin. Surprise, surprise….
"Hot Tub Time Machine 2" arrives on February 20th.
