JOURNEY TO THE MOTHER (Voyage Vers La Mere)She was the name on everyone’s tongues last year, and one that we learned quickly how to spell, but not much has been heard from "Blue Is The Warmest Color" star Adèle Exarchopoulos since then. But the actress has been busy, with a number of foreign films on the way, and set to unspool soon is "Journey To The Mother" AKA "Voyage Vers La Mere." And the first trailer has arrived.

This one comes from Russian filmmaker Mikhail Kosyrev-Nesterov, who writes and directs the tale about Maxim (Artiom Alexeiev), who journeys from Russia to the south of France to reconnect with his mother and half-sister. Here’s the full synopsis:

Maxim (Artem Alexeiev) is a young Muscovite who journeys from Russia to the south of France to visit his mother in her home amidst the lofty mountains of Montagne Sainte-Victoire. He finds her in poor health and is overwhelmed with grief when she abruptly passes away. In the throes of mourning, he reconnects with his French half-sister Marie Louise (Adele Exarchopoulos), whom he hardly saw. Despite the language barrier and accustomed estrangement, the pair grows closer
through their shared sense of loss.

Based on a novel by Nicolas Planchais, the film by Kosyrev-Nesterov features 2013 Palme d’Or winner Adèle Exarchopoulos, the young French actress whose memorable breakthrough role came in Abdellatif Kechiche’s Blue is the Warmest Color (2013).

The film has already played the International Film Festival Of India and stops next at the Singapore International Film Festival. No distributors or release dates yet. Watch below.
