Watch: Full International Trailer & Clip For Joachim Trier’s ‘Louder Than Bombs’ With Jesse Eisenberg & Isabelle Huppert

Louder Than BombsOne of our favorite working filmmakers right now is Joachim Trier. The Norwegian director first made waves with the dazzling “Reprise,” then followed it up with the searing “Oslo August 31st.” Trier made his English-language debut this year with “Louder Than Bombs,” a powerful drama about the men of a family (Gabriel Byrne, Jesse Eisenberg, and Devin Druid) grappling with the death of their wife/mother (Isabelle Huppert), an acclaimed war photographer.

Rachel Brosnahan, Amy Ryan, and David Strathairn also star in the film, and reaction at Cannes was mixed, but we were beguiled by the film, which is concerned with “memory, death, untruths, communication and, above all else, family,” and which ultimately proves “just as affecting as Trier’s earlier projects.” With the film screening again at TIFF ahead, and the Norwegian release date closing in, a new trailer for the film has arrived via Montages.

It’s a little more revealing than the teaser we’ve already seen, and nicely captures the film’s unique rhythms and feel. Take a look below, and you’ll be able to see the film as a whole when The Orchard releases it, likely in 2016.
