Watch: Jaimie Alexander Goes Full Jason Bourne In Trailer For NBC’s ‘Blindspot’

BlindspotWell, if this hyper-charged spot wasn’t just made for Comic-Con, then I don’t know what is. The ominous techno music throbs hard and the stares are steely and humorless in this new action-packed trailer for “Blindspot,” a new series from “Stargate: Atlantis” producer Martin Gero, and by the looks of it, this new hour-long drama may very well share some of that earlier show’s fanboy-friendly DNA.

Jamie Alexander, loaded with enough high-caliber weaponry for a dozen David Ayer flicks and covered in “don’t touch me” tattoos, plays our badass heroine Jane Doe. The trailer voiceover promises that Jane comes equipped with a special set of “skills,” making her sound eerily similar to the protagonist of a certain lucrative action franchise. Sullivan Stapleton will play a tough-as-nails fed whose primary task is to decipher the riddle that Jane’s tattoos may pose, and if they point to some larger criminal conspiracy. There are undeniable shades of Christopher Nolan’s “Memento” in the show’s premise, but the jacked-up execution looks closer in spirit to mainstream entertainments like Marvel’s recent Netflix series “Daredevil” and “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” where Alexander has been a guest star. It could be nice to see Stapleton sink his teeth into what looks, potentially, to be a juicy part–he hasn’t found that knockout role in the same way that his ‘Kindgom’ cohorts like Ben Mendelsohn and Joel Edgerton have–but this looks to be, assuredly, Ms. Alexander’s show. Here’s the official plot synopsis:

In the series, a beautiful Jane Doe (Alexander) is discovered naked in Times Square, completely covered in mysterious, intricate tattoos with no memory of who she is or how she got there. There’s one thing that’s very clear, however: the name of FBI agent Kurt Weller (Stapleton), emblazoned across her back. ‘Jane,’ Agent Weller and rest of the FBI quickly realize that each mark on her body is a crime to solve, leading them closer to the truth about her identity and the mysteries to be revealed.

“Blindspot” premieres on NBC September 21st. Watch the trailer below.
