Set to hit theaters in just under a month, Judd Apatow’s latest effort, “This Is 40,” is already screening for industry types, and the studio is kicking their marketing into high gear to compete in the crowded weekend before Christmas. Though it seems like we’ve seen a lot of footage already, the studio has only just released the first official clip from the sort-of sequel to “Knocked Up.”
The brief clip takes place in bed where Pete and Debbie (Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann, reprising their roles from Apatow’s sophomore feature) discuss their plans to murder each other. Though we’ve already seen a glimpse of this scene in the first trailer, it’s still fun to see Rudd and Mann play off each other.
Seeing as how Apatow’s films are famous for both their improvisations and colorful language, we’re not sure if the clip is the final version of what will end up in the film (we'd reckon it's part of a larger scene). But you’ll just have to see for yourself when “This Is 40” opens wide on December 21st.
