I don’t watch "Saturday Night Live" anymore, largely because sitting through ninety-minutes of unfunny, overlong sketches for the one or two that are gold just isn’t worth it. So in the age of the internet, I just wait until the next morning when the highlights start making the rounds, and this week’s is pretty clever.
Martin Freeman hosted the show this weekend, and the one moment everyone is talking about is "The Hobbit Office," which is — you guessed it — a mashup of "The Hobbit" and "The Office." And the fun mix finds Bilbo back at work after his adventures in Middle Earth, working across from Gollum (Taran Killam), with Gandalf (Bobby Moynihan) as his boss, and Legolas (Kyle Mooney) and Tauriel (Kate McKinnon) among his colleagues. Some of the familiar gags from the British run of the series are nodded to here, all of course with a Tolkien-esque twist.
Watch it below, and frankly, I would’ve preferred this to the entirety of ‘The Battle Of Five Armies.’ [Live For Films]
