Winter may no longer be coming, or at least, the threat of the White Walkers seems to be at bay for the moment, but “Game Of Thrones” season six is coming. And there’s a lot to cover in terms of where everyone’s at. Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), The Breaker of Chains, is ironically back in chains after she’s captured by a Dothraki clan she once ruled. Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) has been blinded for breaking the rules of The House of Black and White, Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead-Wright) and friends are back and Jon Snow (Kit Harington) is, well, dead. Sort of, anyway.
It’s either the worst kept secret of all time, or it’s going to be disappointing for fans, but it appears that Harington did shoot some scenes for season six. Eager fans are expecting some kind of dark-magical full-blown resurrection whereas more cautious fans are erring on the side of cameos or brief ghost appearances. We shall see, but Carice van Houten has already shot down the most popular fan theory: that Snow will be brought back to life by her witch character Melisandre.
Meanwhile, there are “Game Of Thrones” storylines to catch-up on too. After escaping from Winterfell’s wall, Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen) and Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) try to escape the forces of Ramsay Bolton (Iwan Rheon) who are no doubt doing all they can to recapture the pair. Max von Sydow joins the cast as the human embodiment of the Three-Eyed Raven that’s been calling to Bran Stark all these seasons, and surely more will be revealed. “Game of Thrones” Season 6 premieres April 24, and apparently the show has reached such baller status screeners of the series no longer have to hit press in advance. Meanwhile, a new teaser for the show suggests, “we all deserve death.” Watch below.
