Watch: New Pixar Animated SparkShort 'KitBull'

Pixar is working to enchant us all again with their animated shorts, this time not bothering to wait for a full-length feature to attach them too. Their most recent SparkShort, as they’re calling them, was just posted, and it is adorable.

Kitbull” follows the story of an unlikely friendship between a fierce little stray kitten and a lovely pitbull, produced by Kathryne Hendrickson and directed by Rosana Sullivan, who worked on such films like “Coco,” “The Incredibles 2,” and “The Good Dinosaur.”

SparkShorts are videos under ten minutes long animated in a variety of different styles, meant to reflect the person who created them. As Pixar says on their website, “The SparkShorts program is designed to discover new storytellers, explore new storytelling techniques, and experiment with new production workflows. These films are unlike anything we’ve ever done at Pixar, providing an opportunity to unlock the potential of individual artists and their inventive filmmaking approaches on a smaller scale than our normal fare.”

In other words, they are giving their artists and animators the free reign to create their own film stories, a little way to bring a bit more joy and color into the world. Other SparkShorts previously released include “Purl,” a ball of yarn breaking the knitted ceiling at her new job, and “Smash and Grab,” two robots breaking the rules all in the name of friendship, all of which are available on their youtube channel.
