A couple of tidbits on the upcoming small screen return of two much-loved comedy stalwarts in Paul Rudd and Danny McBride.
First up, as the return of the third and final season of Danny McBride's HBO series "Eastbound & Down" draws closer, we now have a new teaser trailer exhibiting nothing less than the twisted, maniacal madness of McBride's Kenny Powers character. The third season will see Powers suit up for the Myrtle Beach Mermen (yes, the male version of mermaids) with Jason Sudekis joining the show as a confidante of Powers, while talent such as Matthew McConaughey, Will Ferrell and more are in line for the show's concluding season.
Meanwhile, having made a name for himself with television stints on shows like "Friends," "Veronica Mars" and "Reno 911!" and executive producing the cult-favourite (and soon to be movie) "Party Down," Rudd is now set to join the star-studded cast of NBC comedy "Parks And Recreation" in a small role. Rudd will play an opponent for Amy Poehler's Leslie Knoppe in her upcoming city council elections, from which hiliarty is sure to ensue. Throw in names like Chris Pratt, Aubrey Plaza, Nick Offerman, Aziz Ansari, "Party Down" alum Adam Scott, Rashida Jones and Retta Sirleaf? Rudd's in for a riot.
TV is certainly where all the comedy talent is at. "Parks And Recreation"returns to NBC this Thursday while the new season of "Eastbound & Down" begins February 19th. [Vulture/Vulture]
