Watch: New Trailer For Abbas Kiarostami’s ‘Like Someone In Love’

nullAfter hitting the festival circuit last year — it played at Cannes, TIFF and the New York Film Festival, among others — Abbas Kiarostami’s follow-up to the critically acclaimed Euro-set “Certified Copy,” the companion piece and Japan-set “Like Someone In Love," is finally hitting theatres stateside this month. With little under a week to go, a U.S. trailer has finally been released by the distributor.

While it’s nowhere near as evocative or endearing as the dialogue-less original trailer released last year, it does shine some light on the characters and a little bit of the plot. The film follows the relationship between a student, who works as a prostitute on the side, and her elderly professor/client. It's perhaps even more cryptic than its predecessor, and is marked by Kiarostami's careful pacing and always keen eye around a frame.

While our own Kevin Jagernauth was disappointed in the film when it premiered at Cannes, calling it “enigmatic and dull to a maddening degree,” you’ll be able to see the results for yourself when “Like Someone In Love” hits limited release next Friday, February 15th. Check out the U.S. trailer below. [First Showing]
