Watch: New Trailer For 'Paddington' Starring Colin Firth, Nicole Kidman & Hugh Bonneville

Paddington

It’s hard to think of a producer more successful right now than David Heyman. Before anyone had even heard of them, he picked up the rights to the “Harry Potter” books from J.K. Rowling, and turned them into the biggest franchise in history. Beyond that, he’s also been behind megahits “I Am Legend” and “Gravity,” the latter of which brought critical acclaim as well as commercial success.

And for his next trick, he’s planning on introducing the world to a bear, in the shape of “Paddington,” a new film version of Michael Bond‘s long-popular creation, who came from deepest darkest Peru, left at the London station that gives him his name, and adopted by the Brown family. The new film, directed by “The Mighty Boosh” helmer Paul King, is a live-action CGI mix starring Colin Firth as the voice of Paddington, and with Nicole Kidman as the villain, Hugh Bonneville and Sally Hawkins as the Browns, with Julie Walters, Jim Broadbent, and Peter Capaldi in the cast too, hits this coming Christmas courtesy of the Weinstein Company, and a new trailer has just arrived for the movie.

It’s the best look at the character so far, though one wonders if that’s for the best: new photos of the film, also below, have inspired the ‘Creepy Paddington’ meme, in which the eerie CGI bear has been inserted, all too effectively, into classic horror movies. But all publicity is good publicity, right? Right? Check out the trailer below, via Yahoo Movies, along with the photos and the new posters. “Paddington” hits theaters on Christmas Day 2014.
