Romeo & Juliet Hailee Steinfeld Douglas Booth

Why does the story of “Romeo & Juliet” continue to resonate hundreds of years after it was first written? Well, it turns out that Bill Shakespeare was onto something as teens and tortured, yearning romance go together like peanut butter and chocolate, and the fundamental story is so good it can be reinvented no small amount of ways and still resonate. This is probably why this year we’re getting year another movie version movie, and it will be one that will embrace the period in which it was written.

A new trailer has arrived for Carlo Carlei‘s movie version, which features Hailee Steinfeld and Douglas Booth as the couple whose love doesn’t sit well with the Capulets and Montagues. The bonafides for the movie continue with a script from “Downton Abbey” dude Julian Fellowes and a supporting cast featuring Paul Giamatti, Lesley Manville, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Stellan Skargard and more. But does this all add up to a fresh and inviting version of the story most of you already know like the back of your hand?

Well, you tell us and then see for yourself when it hits theaters on October 11th.
