Watch: See How Iceland Was Transformed Into Planet LV-223 In Ridley Scott's 'Prometheus'

null"Prometheus" is now on home video, and the conversation continues as fans debate what it's all about, whether or not the not-quite-prequel worked, and even if it ties into the "Blade Runner" universe. But no matter where most folks stand on the movie, it can be agreed that, visually, the film is a wonder. Shot digitally and presented in 3D, it's one of the few films this year that was actually immersive in the format (at least in this writer's opinion), with some special effects that were truly impressive at times. But when it came to the exteriors, Ridley Scott and co. had some help.

In establishing the landscape of the planet LV-223, the filmmakers turned to Iceland and in yet another look behind the film from post-production and VFX company Moving Picture Company. In a pretty nice little compilation video, they show how Scott's drawings were combined with on-location shooting and visual effects to create the final look that we see on the big screen. It's a nice reminder of just how much work went into creating the stark world Noomi Rapace and her crew find themselves in, and it's a pretty impressive reel. Give it a spin below. [Iceland Review]
