Watch: The Sound Of Hunting Bin Laden Explored In 'Zero Dark Thirty' Featurette Plus 2 International Posters

nullWith Oscar nominations being announced this Thursday and the film entering wide release this weekend, Kathryn Bigelow’s dense procedural “Zero Dark Thirty” is now set to be discussed by the public at large. As if on cue, two new posters and a featurette on the sound of the film have been released.

The featurette is the latest installment of the great SoundWorks Collection series, which delves and focuses on various films’ sound design. Like the other installments, this video contains fascinating information on the project, mainly its focus on maintaining a “hyper real” feel on the sound by sculpting and sourcing the effects from material actually recorded by people on the ground in Pakistan. There’s also talk about the insane work that went into making sure that all the sounds were accurate, like researching the environment around the settings for any native animals, railroads or any signifying auditory landmark. If you’re a fan of the film, the video is well worth the look.

Two more posters have hit the web, with the first being a slicker version of the regular theatrical poster, and the second being an international poster that places Jessica Chastain front and center. You can take a look at the posters and SoundWorks video below. “Zero Dark Thirty” is playing in limited release now and will go wide this weekend. [SoundWorks/IMP Awards]
