Earlier this week SXSW unveiled their massive lineup. It’s a daunting task for anyone to sift through the numerous films that will be playing the fest and PR teams will be in overdrive to get eyeballs on their film in the coming weeks but so far so good, as one of the early trailers to drop points to a movie that has piqued our interested.
“Yelling To The Sky” marks the feature debut for Victoria Mahoney and she has lined up an impressive set of talent including Zoe Kravitz, Jason Clarke, Antonique Smith, Gabourey Sidibe and Tim Blake Nelson. And that’s all well and good but we are positively excited to see Shareeka Epps popping up. The “Half Nelson” star simply has not done enough films since the Ryan Gosling starrer but we’re glad to see her here. As for the film, it follows Sweetness (Kravtiz), a seventeen year old whose family is falling apart, and who is left to fend for herself. The trailer doesn’t have any dialogue but that doesn’t make it any less intense and that feeling is helped by “Here I Come” by The Roots ft. Malik B and Dice Raw which powers the spot.
The film hits SXSW next month, check out the trailer below. [ONTD]
