Pals for a while now, Mike Tyson and Spike Lee have been trying to find a way to work together. They were initially going to collaborate on the HBO series “Da Brick,” with Tyson serving as an executive producer on the series Lee was developing, but the network wound up passing on the project. However, they quickly found another way to come together at HBO. The result is “Mike Tyson: The Undisputed Truth” and it’s coming to a small screen near you very soon.
The first trailer has dropped for the film, and it brings into your home the stage show the pair brought to Broadway earlier this year. As you’ll quickly surmise, it finds Tyson leading audiences and viewers through his own life and perspective, from the dizzying highs to the tragic lows, all with his unique personality. It’ll be interesting to see what new insight, if any, will be brought to the former heavyweight champ in a life that has been thoroughly documented every step of the way, but as we’ve learned, both Lee and Tyson can surprise in unexpected ways.
“Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth” premieres on Saturday, November 16th at 8 p.m.
