Well “The Wolverine” has come and gone and with poor domestic numbers making it one of the worst performing of any of the X-Men movies (opening lower than “X-Men Origins: The Wolverine“) all eyes are already on the next X-adventure. No matter what you thought of the movie (we weighed in on the good and bad here), it’s hard to argue that the most exciting portion of the movie was actually the mid-credits tease with (spoiler alert!) Magneto and Charles Xavier meeting Logan in an airport, with a Trask industries logo not so subtly presented. Yes, they’re building bridges to next spring’s “X-Men: Days Of Future Past” and few more morsels have arrived today.
Firstly, we get an official look at Peter Dinklage in the role of Bolivar Trask, the character responsible for creating the Sentinels, the robots that protect humans from mutants. In this alternate history universe we see them deployed in various locations and historical settings, including the inauguration of President Ronald Reagan. It’s a pretty fascinating backdrop, though we hope that Bryan Singer doesn’t ruin this good premise by overwhelming the movie with every X-person in the Fox rights folder.
Take a look at the images below as well as a little Trask Industries promo reel. “X-Men: Days Of Future Past” opens on May 23rd. [Gotham News]
