Watch: U.K. Trailer For The Dardenne Brothers' 'The Kid With A Bike'; Film Hits U.S. Cinemas On March 16th

nullWhile some of the more jaded critics have said "The Kid With A Bike" is yet another familiar effort from the Dardenne Brothers, you'd really have to be some kind of curmudgeon to shrug your shoulders at the arthouse duo's latest film. Premiering at Cannes last year, and making its way to various festivals throughout 2011, "The Kid With A Bike" will hit U.S. theaters this spring, but the first look comes courtesy of the U.K., as Artifical Eye has dropped a new trailer for the movie.

Granted, it's pretty much the exact same one that we saw last spring prior to Cannes, but now it has some fresh English subtitles and it's a nice reminder that the movie is around the corner. Starring Cécile de France and the young Thomas Doret, the film centers on a young boy struggling with his own anger and a longing for someone to care for him, after his father abandons him in a children’s home. He crosses paths with Samantha, a single woman running a hairdressing salon out of her home, and together they forge an uneasy bond that becomes tested as the young boy continues to act out and falls in with the wrong crowd. The result is another incisive look at humanity, albeit a more crowdpleasing movie from the Dardennes, but not lacking in the usual graceful power they bring to their films.

This should be a no-brainer on your moviegoing list this spring. "The Kid With A Bike" will be unspooled courtesy of Sundance Selects on March 16th, while U.K. theaters will get the film on March 23rd. Watch below.
