Well, evidently there was more than one “RoboCop” remake in the works. No, we’re not talking about the Jose Padilha-directed PG-13 remake starring Joel Kinnaman (which shockingly, isn’t that bad), but the crowd-sourced “Our RoboCop Remake.”
If ratings mean something to you, and you like your gore and violence and are worried the PG-13 2014 version will smooth down its edges, then this clip is for you. So what’s the deal with this “RoboCop” remake exactly? Well, it’s 55 filmmakers directing 55 different scenes to be specific. Some are live action, some are animated and ten different actors are playing Officer Alex J. Murphy. Here’s the official synopsis:
“‘Our RoboCop Remake’ is a crowd-sourced film project based on the 1987 Paul Verhoeven classic. Connected through various filmmaking channels (including Channel 101) we’re 50 filmmakers (amateur and professional) from Los Angeles and New York who have split the original RoboCop into individual pieces and have remade the movie ourselves. Not necessarily a shot-for-shot remake, but a scene-for-scene retelling. As big fans of the original RoboCop, and as filmmakers and film fans admittedly rolling our eyes at the Hollywood remake machine, we’ve elected to do this remake thing our own way. Our RoboCop Remake premiered in Los Angeles on January 26th and New York on February 5th. On February 6th, it was released online.’
The scene in question is deleted by a team called Fatal Farm. It’s hella gory, bloody and kinda obsessed with penises—blowing them off violently and sparing no details. Mind you this clip is very NSFW, but if you want to see rubber phalluses get blown to bloody bits, this clip was made for you.
