‘Watchmen’ Trial Moved Back Two Weeks

A minor change in the “Watchmen” legal trial between 20th Century Fox and Warner Bros., but not major major changes. Though one could chalk it up as a victory for Fox. An L.A. federal judge has pushed back the two weeks to January 2o after refusing to rule on who owned the rights to the properties.

Surely, WB would love to see the trial pushed back past their March 6, 2009 release date and surely Fox would like the matter heard as soon as possible to block the film’s release, but either way a two-week push is all anyone got (and even if the film does get released and the legal proceedings get delayed Fox could collect damages after the fact; though that won’t mean much to fans that just want to see the film as soon as possible).
