Got a Tip?

Whaaa?? ‘Antichrist’: The Video Game?

WTF? This is awesome, retarded, hilarious, amazing.

Lars Von Trier’s “Antichrist”? The scabrous, misogynist harangue from the Danish filmmaker that scandalized the Cannes Film Festival is going to become a video game? What you get points for smashing in penises with hammers and or inflicting genital self-mutilation?

/Film uncovers the details. Apparently the game is called, “Eden” (much like the name of the cabin in the film) and will be a first-person thriller/adventure game that “invites players to confront their fears.” Apparently Willem Dafoe will reprise his role in voice-over. This is almost too good to be believed. Hysterical concept, but kind of cool, considering most video game premises.

The supernatural, psychological horror film starred Willem Dafoe and Charlotte Gainsbourg who lose a young child and then retreat to a cabin in the woods to heal themselves of their psychic pain. The woods then tend to go crazy and want to punish the couple for the transgressions that led to the death of their child (or something…, we were so taken aback, we wrote two reviews of the film from the festival). One things for sure, Von Trier watched Andrei Tarkovsky’s “Mirror” a bunch before making it and then put his own terrifying bent on the material (the film is dedicated to the venerable Russian filmmaker, Von Trier doesn’t try and hide the influence). We never play videos games [ed. or at least not me], but would certainly make an exception for this one. We’re very curious.
