'What If?' Trailer: Marvel's First Animated Disney+ Series Arrives August 11

Since January, fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have been given consistent content all year, with series such as “WandaVision,” “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,” and now, “Loki” all debuting on Disney+. As seen in the first real trailer for “What If?” the series takes its cues from the comic book series of the same name that imagines various alternate versions of popular stories and characters. What if Peggy Carter was given the supersoldier serum instead of Steve Rogers? What if T’Challa was kidnapped by Ravagers and became Star-Lord instead of Peter Quill? What if Tony Stark was saved by Kilmonger during the explosion that nearly cost him his life? These are questions that will be answered in the forthcoming animated series.

Perhaps the most intriguing and exciting part for fans isn’t the glimpse into the unknown, seeing their Marvel superheroes in new iterations, but the fact that most of the original live-action actors are coming back to voice their animated counterparts. So, this isn’t just some animated offshoot that wants to play with the ideas and stories of the MCU. “What If?” is just as much a Marvel Studios original production as any of the films and Disney+ TV series that have come before it.
